Johnny Stephene
The Early Years
Johnny Stephene was consumed by basketball from the very beginning. Relentless in his pursuit of excellence, he gave everything to developing his game at the collegiate level, always chasing new ideas, technical improvement, and a deeper understanding of the sport.
- He played college basketball at Liberty University and the University of Central Oklahoma
- His game was defined by ball handling, playmaking, and a strong competitive drive
- He then took his skills to Mexico, continuing his professional career and pushing his development even further
The Turning Point
A stress fracture ultimately changed the course of his playing career. Rather than walking away from the game, Johnny leaned deeper into it. That pivot became the defining moment of his life and career.
- Spent countless hours perfecting dribbling skills and creating fresh drills
- He developed a training system based on a single principle: become a master at ball handling, and everything else will fall into place
- He started training young athletes in local gyms, then took his methods online
The Rise of Dribble2Much
His influence expanded from local gyms to the online world, and his name spread rapidly:
- He amassed a social media following exceeding one million
- He created viral, visually engaging content that highlighted advanced ball-handling drills and training culture
- His brand, Dribble2Much, became synonymous with next-level skill development and a new era of basketball training
- Trained and worked alongside NBA players including Kevin Durant, DeMar DeRozan, and Nate Robinson
Handlelife Academy
Building Handlelife
Out of that foundation came Handlelife, a training brand and full academy. Beyond the brand, Handlelife became a movement rooted in developing complete athletes and confident young people.
- Launched structured training programs for athletes at all levels
- Developed proprietary heavyweight training basketballs designed to improve muscle memory and control
- Built partnerships with major basketball equipment companies to expand reach and impact
The Mission Today
Johnny now pours all of that experience into Handlelife Academy and the Handlelife Legacy Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating out of Handlelife HQ in Chatsworth, CA.
