Handlelife Academy runs a structured internship and apprenticeship program open to university students and community members. We hold an official internship partnership with California State University, Northridge, and also welcome applications from students at other universities and motivated individuals from the broader community who want to build real experience in basketball, sports technology, and athletic performance.
This is not a passive experience. Every intern at Handlelife Academy is embedded inside our active programs, working alongside coaches, trainers, and staff in a real, high-performance environment. If you are looking to develop professionally, contribute meaningfully, and grow inside one of the most innovative youth basketball programs in the region, this is the place to do it.
Handlelife Academy holds an official Internship and Service-Learning Agreement with California State University, Northridge. These placements offer CSUN students a structured way to meet academic goals, all while actively supporting our programs and the wider community. If you are a CSUN student looking to complete internship or service-learning hours, reach out to your faculty advisor or service-learning coordinator and reference our partnership, or apply directly through this page.
Students from other universities are equally welcome to apply. We are happy to work with your institution to ensure your placement meets any academic requirements. Community members who do not hold university affiliation are also encouraged to apply — what matters most is your commitment, your interest, and what you bring to our program.
All internship placements are based at Handlelife HQ, located at 20611 Prairie Street in Chatsworth, CA. You will be embedded inside our active programs, including:

Geared toward people with a genuine interest in sports technology and data analytics, this track gives interns hands-on exposure to performance tracking in a real training environment. We use ShotTracker technology throughout our programs and are looking for detail-oriented individuals who can help us turn data into better outcomes for our athletes. Through our close partnership with ShotTracker founder Davyeon Ross, interns who perform well in this track may have the opportunity to transition into a placement at ShotTracker headquarters.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Performance doesn't stop when training does. This track is built for people with a background or academic interest in athletic training, kinesiology, sports medicine, or recovery and wellness. Handlelife Academy incorporates Hyperice recovery products into our programs, and we're looking for interns who can help deliver and manage recovery support for our athletes.
Handlelife Academy has teamed up with YoungLA and Jordan Brand, two major names in fitness and basketball culture. This track sits within our fitness department and plays a real role in building the Handlelife brand. Interns will work where athletic performance and brand development meet, supporting fitness programming while helping grow our partnerships with both brands. Because of our relationship with Anthony Katz and the YoungLA team, top interns might be offered positions within YoungLA.

Through our partnership with Eat Naked, a meal plan company focused on clean, performance-driven nutrition, Handlelife Academy is expanding into athlete nutrition support. This track is ideal for students studying nutrition, dietetics, kinesiology, or a related field. Interns will work directly with athletes to build healthier habits, with a particular focus on meal planning and dieting support during critical phases like pre-draft preparation.
Applications are open to CSUN students, students from other institutions, and community members who are serious about pursuing professional experience in sports. No matter the track, we're looking for people who are:
