Careers

At Handlelife Academy, our coaches are the driving force behind athlete development. They lead training sessions designed to hone skills and get athletes ready for competitions, showcases, and tournaments. We're seeking individuals with a competitive background and a real passion for mentoring young athletes. The right candidate connects with athletes from every background, communicates well with families, and helps create a training environment where athletes thrive. • Follow all program rules, regulations, and safety standards
  • Create a team culture defined by respect, discipline, and accountability
  • Encourage positive attitudes and help manage athlete behavior on and off the court

The Coach Assistant role at Handlelife Academy is built for someone with a basketball background who is ready to grow as a coach while having a genuine impact on young athletes. You will support the coaching staff in training, player development, and program coordination, working closely with head coaches and staying in regular contact with athletes, parents, and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Help coaches plan and run practices, drills, and conditioning work
  • Assist in teaching core basketball skills, including ball handling, shooting, passing, and defense

  • Keep an eye on the athlete's progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Offer individual feedback and instruction during drills and scrimmages
  • Connect athletes, coaches, and parents as needed

The Academy Aid role at Handlelife Academy puts you right in the middle of daily program operations. You will support administrative tasks, training sessions, and athlete needs across all skill levels, all of which are essential to keeping the Academy running well and giving every athlete the best experience possible. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Help organize and run practice sessions, drills, and training activities
  • Set up and maintain equipment for drills, practices, and training sessions

Handlelife Academy's Academy Staff keep daily operations moving and support both the coaching and administrative functions that make our programs work. We want people who care about basketball and youth development and who are ready to roll up their sleeves and contribute to athlete success in and out of the gym. Staff work with coaches during training, help run events, and play a role in keeping the environment positive and professional for everyone involved. Prior experience in a similar setting is a plus, along with the ability to think on your feet. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Back up coaches and assistants with practice planning, drills, and performance-focused strategies
  • Support the planning, setup, and running of events like practices, tournaments, camps, and clinics

  • Keep records of athlete attendance, evaluations, and registration information up to date
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout Handlelife HQ

Handlelife Academy is looking for a Classroom Aid to support the academic component of our student-athlete program. This is not a teaching position. It is about being present, keeping students focused, and making sure academic responsibilities are being met during study time. Experience working with youth in academic, athletic, or mentorship settings is a plus, along with strong communication skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Keep student-athletes focused and on task throughout academic sessions
  • Hold a structured and productive environment during study periods
  • Lend light support with assignments, platforms, or study materials as needed
  • Bring any student engagement or focus concerns to the academy staff
  • Help coordinate academic and training schedules to support a balanced day
